A prepared file stays available for 1 hour.
How it works
- Paste the link. Copy it from the address bar or the Share button in the app.
- Pick a quality. Video comes as MP4, audio as MP3 or M4A. The server prepares the file, usually in under a minute.
- Save the file. The download starts on its own. If it does not, press Save file.
Questions
Is it free?
Yes. No sign-up, no limits on quality. There is a fair-use limit on how many files one person can prepare in ten minutes.
Why does preparing take time?
Above 720p, YouTube stores picture and sound separately. The server downloads both and joins them into one MP4, so that the file plays everywhere.
Which links are not supported?
Playlists, channels, live streams, private or paid videos, and anything longer than 2 hours. One link, one video or track.
What can I do with the files?
Save only what you have the right to save: your own uploads, works under free licences, or material the author allows to download. The responsibility for how a file is used is yours.
